It is your final day in Milwaukee and it is sure to not disappoint you. Today is filled with fun Milwaukee favorites.
• Morning: Grab breakfast at your hotel if possible and then head out to the Milwaukee Art Museum. This museum has a beautiful structure and was named one of “the top 12 must-visit new buildings, built in the last five years’ by Arthur Frommer’s Budget Traveler (2004). The entrance is a Burke Brize Soleil. This sunscreen will raise and lower to create a moving sculpture that you have to see. Visitors try to arrive to the museum in the morning to watch the opening when this sunscreen is raised. Inside the Art Museum you will find a collection ranging from ancient art to modern art, photography, folk art, and more!
• Afternoon: For a fun twist on your afternoon, head over to Lake Park where you can play Milwaukee’s very own Lawn Bowling. This game is very similar to Italy’s bocce and found its way into Milwaukee’s heart in 1919. Today you can join in the fun as players will teach you some of the skills of the game and will allow you to use some of their equipment as well.
• Evening: To appropriately wrap up this third day, you have to spend time at Milwaukee’s unique nightclub, the Safe House. The red door says “International Exports, Ltd.”, which is a cover up. Inside you will find a one-of-a-kind hangout that offers a true spy experience and has been around since 1966. If the Safe House is not your style and you are looking for something that is “safe” for the family then visit Water Street Brewery in downtown Milwaukee for American cuisine.
