Yawn, stretch and get out of bed! It is day two on your Milwaukee trip and there is a lot of fun waiting for you beyond your hotel room door or wherever you may be staying. Today’s plan is to become a true Milwaukeean by visiting Miller Brewing Company and Miller Park.
• Morning: Today will begin on Brady Street. You will encounter a mix of cultures and history on Brady Street as there are remnants of Civil War days, multicultural influences, the invasion of the hippies in the 60s, and the style of today. This strip has everything you need from clothing shops to restaurants. Since it is still morning, however, you might just want to stop and take it all in from one of the coffee shops.
• Afternoon: To continue on with this memorable trip and go further into Milwaukee’s past; you have to visit one of its many breweries. The Miller Brewing Co. offers free guided tours which start every ½ hour so we’ll start the afternoon there. The tour offers a theater presentation and then takes you on a walk through the packing center, shipping center, the brew house, and historic caves. You will see things that will carry you back to the days when beer was delivered on horse drawn wagons all the way up to Miller today. If you are 21 or older, free samples of Miller’s brews are offered in the Miller Inn, but do not fret if you are underage as soda is also available.
• Evening: Tonight it is time to find your seat and root for one of Milwaukee’s very own professional teams. The time of year, however, will obviously determine which team you will get to see. Miller Park is the home of the Milwaukee Brewers. You can check for either the Milwaukee Bucks, NBA, or the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL, at the Bradley Center. Milwaukee also has two soccer teams; one indoor at the U.S. Cellular Arena, the Waves, and one outdoor at Uihleon Soccer Park, the Milwaukee Wave United. Which ever team you have the opportunity to watch, your evening will be a treat!
