There are several ways to word your invitation. The following are some examples on how to word them.

The traditional style when the bride’s parents are hosting:
Doctor and Mrs. Matt Smith
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Susan Lee Smith
to
Mr. John Marke Jones
etc.
When the bride’s parents are hosting and the groom’s parents are included:
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Smith
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of their daughter
Susan Lee Smith
to
Mr. John Marke Jones
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones
etc
When both parents are hosting:
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Smith
and
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of
Susan Lee Smith
to
Mr. John Marke Jones
etc.
The bride or groom wish to honor a deceased parent:
Mrs. Matt Smith
requests the honor of your presence
at the marriage of her daughter
Susan Lee Smith
also daughter of the late Mr. Matt Smith
to
Mr. John Marke Jones
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones or
(son of Mr. Carroll Jones and the late Mrs. Jane Jones)
etc.

Or,

Susan Lee Smith
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Smith
(or daughter of Mrs. Sharon Smith and the late Mr. Matt Smith)
and
Mr. John Marke Jones
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones
(or son of Mr. Carroll Jones and the late Mrs. Jane Jones)
request the honor of your presence
etc.
When the bride’s stepfather is hosting along with the mother:
Mr. and Mrs. Matt Smith
request the honor of your presence
at the marriage of her daughter
Susan Lee White
to
Mr. John Marke Jones
etc.
.
An invitation issued by the couple to the wedding and reception:
The honor of your presence is requested
at the marriage of
Susan Lee Smith
to
Mr. John Marke Jones
Saturday, the fourth of March
at five o’clock
Veteran’s Memorial Center
Davis
And afterward at the reception

RSVP
A custom, informal invitation, reflecting the couple, could look like this:
Susan Lee Smith
and
Mr. John Marke Jones
invite you to share their joy
at their wedding
Etc.
The couple is issuing the invitation, but honoring their parents:
Susan Lee Smith
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Smith
and
Mr. John Marke Jones
son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Jones
request the honor of your presence
etc.

However, if you do not wish to mail invitations, you could either make phone calls or send emails as invitations for less formal weddings. No matter which way you choose to invite your guests, just be sure you inform them of the "who, what, when, and where’s" of the ceremony.
