If you are familiar with databases you’ll understand the next concept. If you aren’t, don’t worry because you’ll get it. Many databases that are used today are known as relational databases. This is because they link sets of database together by means of a common key. As a matter of fact, all the different sets are shared by one common ID which allows them to relate to one another. This is how the relational aspect was formed.

A relational database works by delivering information by way of a web interface. In most systems this is done by means of a client/server interface. With this method, the server holds a version of the database that is connected to the Internet. Here is where users gain access to it by way of a website. When the user sends a query by way of the website, the server responds and processes that request and relays the answer to the user’s screen. This query process is known as Structured Query Language (SQL).
