» How to Create Successful Copy
There are steps you can take to make sure you write copy that will sell your products or services. Here are the steps you need to take:
· USP (Unique Selling Proposition): Every website owner who is selling a product has a USP. What is it about your product that makes it different from all others? How does your product differ from your competitor? Think about what is different or unique about your product and focus on that.
· Targeting your audient: Who are you trying to sell your product to? What market will you focus on? Who does your product appeal to the most? Whoever you decide to go to you can’t talk to them like a businessman with a MBA or PhD. You have to relate to your audience. You have to speak their language. You also have to know what your audience wants. What do they fear? By knowing exactly what their problem is, you can fill that need and create the niche you are looking for.
· Know your price: Before you sell your product you need to know how much to charge. If you charge to little, you undervalue your product. A product that is more expensive is a better value, has more features, have better information, or be of better quality. The best way to know is by seeing what your competition is selling their product for. You can even sell your product higher as long as you provide a product that has more value than your competitor’s product has. There have been certain prices that have worked well for many merchants. These prices include $19.95, $29.95, $39.95, $69.95, $97, $197, $297, and the list goes on.
· Create an attention-grabbing headline: When you write copy the first thing to look at is the headline. This is obviously the first area that people look at when they get to your website. So you must write a headline that will force your visitors to stop and read. A good headline will emphasize key benefits of your product, emphasize the biggest solution to their problems, and generate curiosity and pull visitors into the copy. After you grab their attention with the headline, you also must write a compelling sub-headline that will force the reader to continue reading. The main object is to carry the reader through until he or she orders the product.
This is only the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more to know about it that would fill volumes. The best advice is to write in a personable, friendly way, and write headlines that will grab the reader’s attention quickly. Then establish credibility by introducing yourself and who you are and how long you’ve been in business. You can also include testimonials to help here. The main thing is to sell, sell, and sell the benefits of your product.
