What exactly is an ASP?

As was briefly explained above, an ASP is a business that serves the public by giving them something that is useful and needed, and that no one person can have. The example above showed a ship. We rely on ships to take us where we want to go because we couldn’t afford to pay for our own. If we were to buy our own ship here are the costs involved:

·        Pay for the purchase of the ship. In some cases, depending on type and size of ship, this could cost you as much as a million dollars.
·        You have to maintain the ship after so many months.
·        You couldn’t possibly take care of the ship yourself. So you would have to hire people to take care of it for you. Another expense. Plus, you would need to hire a captain to pilot the ship. Not cheap.
·        You have to pay for transportation costs of getting the ship form the dock to where it had to be. This means paying for fuel to run the ship.

The fact is you would spend millions of dollars to own a ship whereas you would probably just spend a couple hundred to rent it for a short while.

ASPs are around in many forms. They are there to serve our interest. They help us by providing us a service we could not afford on our own.
