How Does a User Get His Email

Eventually that text file will get large as more messages arrive. When the user logs into the server from his email client or software here is what usually happens:

·        Request a copy of yourname.txt: When you log in and load your email client or program, the software sends a transmission through port 110 to the POP3 server. At this time the client automatically retrieves the information by asking the server to send a copy of the text file.
·        Erase and reset file: After the text file has been downloaded into the email client, the software sends a code to tell the server to erase and reset the text file.
·        Save copy of text file on local machine: After the text file is downloaded, it is saved to a certain directory the software set aside to use for email storage.
·        Parse the file: The file is then parsed and separated into separate messages that can be read, using the word “FROM” as the basis for viewing the messages.
·        Display list: After the parsing is done, the list is displayed on the screen for viewing.

At this time you have the ability to open and view your messages, after which you can delete them. Be careful when you delete them. Because when you close the program all deleted email messages are gone.
