Day Seven

Your final day in Washington may be filled with packing and other travel preparations or with travel itself. If you do still have some time, however, you have a final day to hit any of the museums or sights that you missed or want to revisit.

On the other hand, day seven could be a day for the kids. If that is the case, head straight to the zoo and spend the morning with the pandas and the other animals before renting bikes and riding through Rock Creek Park. There is a Six Flags theme park within thirty miles of Washington, but the zoo and the bike ride will probably be cheaper and more memorable.

If you don’t have kids, however, you may want to spend the day shopping. Georgetown is perhaps the city’s finest shopping area, but there are also several shopping malls in the area, such as the Pentagon City Mall between Arlington National Cemetery and Reagan National Airport.
