Central Virginia is home to lovely Lexington and Charlottesville, which was named one of the top 10 places to live in the US. Because of the fact that Central Virginia was home to several famous founding presidents, it is a popular tourist area and an educationally-focused region. There are many motels and hotels available in the Central Virginia area at inexpensive rates; however, the biggest lodging attractions are the inns and bed and breakfasts in this area.

• Lexington – Be completely spoiled as you enjoy the incredible panoramic views of the mountains, hike and fish, or just relax at the Steeles Tavern Manor Country Inn ($190 - $220). Or take advantage of the secluded Alpine Hideaway Cottages also nestled into the Lexington acres, which is approximately $225 per couple per night. For between $100 and $274 a night, you can enjoy the Brierley Hill Country Inn – a lovely combination of Southern comfort and beauty.
• Charlottesville – For $150 - $235, you can enjoy the southern hospitality and modern comfort of the Foxfield Inn. Tranquil and indulgent, the High Meadows Vineyard Inn and Restaurant is also an excellent lodging choice. Or, if you’d rather stay on a plantation in a manor house, the Prospect Hill Plantation Inn may be just for you ($190 - $275). If you’re visiting Monticello, consider the Inn at Monticello – elegant and romantic and a well-known draw in the area.
