Hai Phong (also written Haiphong) is located in North Vietnam, not far from Hanoi, the capital city. It is located in the Red River Delta and is an essential seaport for the country’s northern region.

Hai Phong has always been a critical trading center in Vietnam, with a history dating back several hundred years. During French occupation, Hai Phong was France’s major naval base, and the city was attacked hard by the French during the years following World War II, when the two countries battled for control. Later, during the Vietnam War, Hai Phong was a primary target of American bombs because of its role as the country’s primary northern port.

No airport services Hai Phong, but its role as a key port in trade continues today.

This is just a brief overview of the five major provinces in Vietnam, which also consists of 59 other provinces, covering a large area in Southeast Asia.
