Da Nang is an incredibly important port city off the coast of the South China Sea. It is located on the far east coast of the country, in the Central Vietnam region. During the Vietnam War, Da Nang was the site of a critical American air base, but the Viet Cong was busy operating directly underneath the base, unbeknownst to the Americans. Da Nang is well known for exporting items such as rattan furniture, clothing, household goods and seafood.

The Da Nang International Airport, located in the heart of the city, services the city and the surrounding areas. While it is an international airport, most of its routes are domestic.
