As we mentioned before, Vietnam has a tremendous number of activities and things to see and do.

Many agencies offer incredible vacation packages with all kinds of different opportunities to enjoy in Vietnam. Cruises are a popular choice, with opportunities on the Saigon River, the Mekong River, the Red River, the South China Sea, and others. For the active enthusiast, cycling tours are offered of nearly every major city in Vietnam. Kayakers and hikers have many options as well. If luxury is more your thing, there are numerous resorts and five star properties in Vietnam from which to choose. Beach tours and tours for the golfer are also popular, as Vietnam is home to many gorgeous beaches and hundreds of world class golf courses.

Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, is also the most popular tourist destination in the country. Some of the sites you can see in Hanoi include the Ho Chi Minh Complex (including the mausoleum of the famous Vietnamese leader, along with his former house on stilts, the presidential palace, and the famous One Pillar Pagoda), the Old Quarter, the Lake of the Restored Sword, the Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, West Lake, Thanh Nien, and the Tran Quoc Pagoda.

Hanoi also is home to many other interesting attractions: the National History Museum, the Revolution Museum, the National Museum of Fine Art, and many small artisan shops and silk shops.
Ho Chi Minh City, named for the country’s most famous political leader, is another very popular tourist site. Ho Chi Minh City is better known by its former name, Saigon. This city, the largest in the country, acted as the capital of South Vietnam during the time the country was split into two regions. The city is marked by a strong French influence from the days of French colonization, and tourists will enjoy the broad boulevards and the beautiful architecture.

Prominent tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City include Reunification Hall, City Hall, Municipal Theatre, the HCMC Post Office, the Revolutionary Museum, the People’s Court and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
