Woodstock, Vermont is considered one of the loveliest villages in the state. Homes run the gamut from rustic cabins in the high $200s, to Federal style homes in the $600,000 range, to estate homes at $1,000,000 and more. Nearby Quechee Village offers condominiums in the $200s, which are popular as second homes.
The ski hub of Killington, Vermont has single-family homes in the $300s, but the primary real estate market revolves around second residences and rental properties. High-end properties, such as condos located directly on the slopes and lakefront homes continue to appreciate, make up the bulk of activity and are still appreciating. Other condos and more marginal properties are experiencing a slowdown in activity and a decrease in price. Nearby communities of Pittsfield, Bridgewater, Mendon, Stockbridge, and Rochester offer slightly less expensive options. Rutland is the major commercial hub near Killington, and it offers more reasonably priced housing as well.
Middlebury is home to the lovely Middlebury College, and the town features over 300 buildings listed on the National Historic register. Three-bedroom homes can be found in the mid $200s.
Just north of Middlebury is Vergennes, Vermont's oldest city, established in 1788. It is home to about 2,800 people, and covers approximately 1200 acres of land. This small, but lovely community has housing available in the mid-$300s.
