» Day Five
Reluctantly say goodbye to the charming Woodstock, and head north to Vermont’s capitol, Montpelier. Perhaps the most quaintly picturesque state capitol in the entire United States, Montpelier is refined and congenial. You can tour the State House and dine at Main Street Grill and Bar or Chef’s Table, both operated by the New England Culinary Institute. Nearby Waterbury is home to the Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory. They offer fun and inexpensive tours, including free samples. The Capitol Plaza Hotel and the Inn at Montpelier are two great options for lodging.
