» Day Two
AM Activity
After a wonderful first day, it may be difficult to surpass what was done in that time but I can guarantee the second day will be as fun as the first.
For the morning activity, I recommend visiting the York Barbican Centre, it offers relaxation from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing and offers facilities that includes a swimming pool, gym and see can even see a show at the theatre.
There are many things one can do here and there is the added benefit of not needing to be a member. If you require any more information then you can contact the Barbican centre on 01904 628991.
Lunch
The benefit of visiting York, is there are restaurants to suit all tastes so you will be spoilt for choice on where to eat. It is best to search the internet for places to eat but one place that comes highly recommended in the city is the Judge’s Lodgings and offers a wide choice of English meals and prices are very reasonable. You can find the Judge’s Lodgings at 9 Lendal in York. It is a Grade 1 listed building with a very homely feel and the menu adds to this feeling.
PM Activity
Visiting the National Railway Museum is a very easygoing afternoon and provides the insight into the travel history York has to offer. The Victorian era provided many great transport means and the museum reflects the advancements this era offered and ultimately changed the way York and the rest of the country traveled forever.
Entry to the museum is free and whilst it is not suitable for everyone many families enjoy visiting the museum and are surprised by the varied history that York has. There is no need to book ahead but if you have any queries, you can contact the museum on +(0)1904 686 235.
Dinner
For your final evening in this great city just having a simple take away will not have that final spark before needing to head home so visit an outstanding restaurant with great food and friendly atmosphere.
One Italian restaurant that stands out in York is the La Vecchia Scuola restaurant which whilst eating, an experience pianist plays beautiful music and knows most songs. On some days he will ask if anyone has any requests and along with an excellent menu and reasonable prices, it is an excellent choice for a bit of elegance whilst out dining.
You need to be prepared that it is a very popular restaurant so there will be waits on some busier days but once you are seated, you are guaranteed a great meal and a reasonable price.
