As Derbyshire is renowned for its outstanding beauty, it has attracted the attention of the rich and famous over the centuries. Plenty of people were born and raised in the Peak District but its regular famous visitors have confirmed it as a major tourist attraction.

Novelist Jane Austen wrote her bestselling novel Pride and Prejudice whilst staying in Bakewell and there are many points noted in the book that are based around what Derbyshire has to offer.
