Alton Towers Theme Park

One attraction that never fails to disappoint is the world famous Alton Towers Theme Park, located just a couple of miles from Ashbourne it is home to many excellent rides including Oblivion – the first vertical drop rollercoaster to rides and attractions for smaller children. There is something to do for people of all ages.

Tickets aren’t too expensive and for a family of four, you can expect to spend just over £100 and whilst it seems a lot of money, there is so much to do, you can spend a whole day then with the added benefit that at certain times of year they have extended opening hours, sometimes until about 10pm instead of the usual 6pm/7pm.

Top Tip: If you want to visit over two days because you find that one day does not prove enough excitement then I would recommend buying a towers two ticket. At about £10 each, you can get into the park for a second time at the greatly reduced rate and catch up on what you may have missed during the first time round.
