With a population of over 7 million, its borders are widespread, history rich, culture intriguing, entertainment boundless, business bustling and opportunities limitless. The twenty-first century has moved the city forward in it’s infrastructure with the completion of better highways and public transportation systems as well as centers of commerce and entertainment. Late in the year 2006 or early 2007 will bring about the opening of a brand new international airport, located southeast of the city. Despite it’s modern conveniences and amenities, while in Bangkok, you are always just a block away typical scenes of life anywhere in Thailand: mom and pop stores lining the streets, children laughing as they go to and from school in their crisp uniforms and food vendors moving slowly up and down the street selling everything from pork sausages to freshly cut papaya, mango and pineapple.
