This Gothic church in Bern is characterized by its tower that stands above the old town. Tourists can climb the tower, which is the tallest in all of Switzerland at 328 feet. This tower has 254 steep stone stairs set in a spiral, but the view at the top is worth the climb. Make sure you check the bell-ringing schedule before climbing, however, as standing right next to a 10.5 ton bell, the largest in the country, might be an experience you'll want to avoid! Outside the church is a Roman gate that is famous for its old stone figures.
