The Swedish county of Stockholm County is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea and has a population of 1,803,377 people. The capitol of Sweden is Stockholm and the city is located in Stockholm County. Stockholm County is partly in the province of Södermanland and partly in the providence of Uppland. Some of the County Council of Stockholm County’s main priorities are public health care and public transportation. There are 26 municipalities or cities that make up Stockholm County.
· Stockholm: Stockholm is the capitol city of Sweden and has a population of 765,044 making it the largest populated area in the country. The Parliament of Sweden is located in Stockholm and the King of Sweden King Carl XVI Gustaf also resides in the capitol city. Stockholm may be best known worldwide for the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony which is held there annually. In 1998 Stockholm was named the European Capitol of Culture. The city serves as a highly technologically advanced area. Stockholm is a modern city that is very diverse. There are several multinational companies that are based in Stockholm. The city sees itself as the business and cultural capitol of Scandinavia. There are also several universities located in Stockholm, more than any other area in Sweden.
