·        Snow Sports: Sweden is a playground for those who enjoy participating in snow sports. Ski slopes, snow mobiles, and dog sledding parks and trails are all widely available in Sweden. Some of the regions that offer great skiing and snowboarding are Idre, Sälen, and Härjedalen. You can find the largest dog sledding company in Sweden at the small village of Jukkasjärvi. There are also several areas available with trails for snowmobiling.
·        Hiking: There are around 400 hiking trails in Sweden. Most hiking trails provide posted signs indicating directions. There are also restrooms and lodging options offered on the majority of hiking trails in Sweden. It is recommended that hikers come equip with necessary hiking gear such as compass, appropriate clothing, and if hikers will be camping tents along with food will be required. The weather in Sweden is ever changing so hikers should be prepared for sudden changes in weather.
·        Fishing: Sweden offers a wide range of fishing destinations. There are a number of lakes, rivers, and streams as well as the Baltic Sea all of which offer excellent fishing. You can even set up shop on the ice for some ice fishing. Trout, salmon, grayling, pike, char, and perch can all be found in Sweden.
·        Water Activities: Canoeing, white water rafting, sailing, day cruises, kayaking, and wreck diving can all be enjoyed while visiting Sweden.
·        Cave and Mountain Exploration: There are a vast number of both mountains and caves to explore in Sweden. There are several tours visitors can go on ranging from easy to challenging that take you up mountains or down into caves that travel deep into the earth’s surface.
·        The Northern Lights: This is quite possibly one of the most beautiful sights in the world. At times the Northern Lights can light up the entire night sky with beautiful shades of red, blue, green, and violet. While the lights are visible year round the best time to see the full effect of this magnificent light show is during the dark winter season.
