Today is a day for shopping! But don’t make the mistake of thinking that you are done looking at Stockholm’s history: even the shopping centers are like museums in that they showcase Stockholm’s rich culture.

Be sure to not miss out on the Gamla Stan. The Gamla Stan, also known as “Old Town” is Stockholm’s first settlement. It is located in the heart of Stockholm and contains the Vasterlanggatan, the most touristy street in Sweden. This street is lined with shops that offer rare gifts and brilliant souvenirs. If you are traveling with family members who are not really in to the shopping scene, don’t worry! There is also a large arcade and several ice cream parlors to keep them occupied.
