With summer come vacations, beach volleyball, time spent by the pool, and many other activities that people look forward to all year long. However, summer also brings heat - and more heat than some people wish to experience or can handle. One thing is for sure: when you can't do much about the temperature, you're sure to want a nice cold drink - something to quench your thirst and cool you down. And there's more at stake than comfort.
Unfortunately, those who don't drink enough of the right fluids when it's hot out can experience dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. (Some typical symptoms are headache, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, goose bumps, confusion, dry mouth, weak and rapid pulse, and clammy skin.) In order to prevent this, stay hydrated by drinking the right fluids even when you don't feel thirsty and replacing lost electrolytes. Water is generally the best possible option; however, there are also other frosty and tasty summer drinks that will help refresh you and your family while keeping you safe in the sun.
