The old oak trees with Spanish moss delicately dangling over the cobblestone streets help paint the beautiful picture the town of Charleston is. The history, the culture, the people and all that the low country has to offer are some of the reasons Charleston is a great place to live. With beaches, world-class golfing, endless outdoor activities, nature watching, historic landmarks and the many museums in and around town, Charleston has something to offer everyone. The shopping and dining options are appropriately original and unique and sure to please even the most exquisite of tastes.

With the College of Charleston and the Medical University of the South, Charleston offers some of the best educational opportunities in the state, which is another reason this is a great place to live. You can also find some of the best beaches in the state in Sullivan Island, Isle of Palms, Kiawah and Folly Beach. The downtown area is thriving, as there are a plethora of historic homes and buildings, great shopping and fine dining. The City Market is a Charleston tradition that is a prime attraction to the downtown area.

These are some of the reasons that the Charleston real estate market continues to thrive. The area is one of the fastest growing areas in the South due in part to the lovely area, attractions and culture. Another important contributor to the growing area is the economic growth that is going to continue to develop thanks to the large companies that will be opening shop in Charleston over the next several months. Vought-Alenia will be opening a plant to construct the majority of Boeing 787 fuselages, creating over 650 jobs. DaimlerChrysler AG will also open a new plant providing 220 jobs. This, paired with the opening of new shopping developments such as a new Tanger Factory Center Outlet and the fact that the Port of Charleston is operating at full capacity, making it the fourth busiest port in the country, will ensure an expanding economy for the next several years. Because of these new developments, the job market is steadily increasing and relocations are fueling a healthy buyer’s and seller’s market.

The homes in Charleston are as diverse as the culture. There are historic homes with antebellum architecture, small country cottages, luxury condominiums, contemporary lofts, traditional Row homes and cozy beach bungalows. It is easy to find a residence that meets your needs.
