Before you purchase your carpet cleaner you first have to decide what you are looking for in your carpet cleaner. What is it you want the cleaner to do? How big a room do you have and what do you need cleaning? Her are some tips on what to look for when purchasing your next carpet cleaner:

·        What is it to do: Before you do anything the first thing you need to decide is what do you need cleaning? You don’t want to buy a carpet cleaner when all you really need is a vacuum cleaner, unless of course the carpet cleaner acts a vacuum cleaner to. How big a room do you have? How much carpet is there? How much traffic is there in the house or room? Once you know the answers to these questions you will know if a carpet cleaner is what you truly need.
·        Physical Size: When looking to purchase a carpet cleaner you should look at the size of the tank. What capacity does it hold? How much do you need? Again, what is the size of the room? If you don’t have a big area to clean, perhaps a smaller size canister would do. This helps keep the price of the cleaner down to.
·        Power Requirements: How much power do you need for your cleaner? If the room is large and the carpet is thick, and there is a lot of traffic going through the room, you know that carpet will get extra dirty. In that case, you will need a cleaner that has enough power to suck up the dirt. This is especially important if you work a lot and don’t have time to do a lot of cleaning.
·        Availability of Parts:  If the carpet cleaner you are intending on buying is new to the market, make sure there are parts available in case it fails to work. Also check to see how long the warranty is. In most cases, the unit will not break down until after the warranty expires. This happens too many times to count. Make sure you can get parts for your cleaner.
·        Easy to Maintain: Is the carpet cleaner you want to buy easy to care for and maintain. The more complex it is the harder care for it. Make sure you don’t have to consult with a scientist just to figure out how to clean the machine.
