» Care and Safety Tips
When you work with the unit there are certain precautions you must take to care for your unit properly. If you don’t follow these guidelines you can damage the cleaner and break the warranty. Here are care and safety tips that can save you time and money later:
· Safety First – Before you even attempt to use your machine, make sure to read all safety items first. When you use your carpet cleaner, do not use it for what it was not designed for. This includes using it outdoors. Also you need to follow these rules as well. They also serve to protect you and your machine from harm:
o Do not leave the machine plugged in when not in use.
o Do not service the machine when it is plugged in.
o Do not pull on the cord when removing it from the receptacle. You could damage the cord.
o Do not use any attachments on it other than what came with the machine. These attachments were engineered to fit this unit. Forcing other attachments on it could damage the unit.
o Don’t use just any cleaning solution. Only use what is recommended by the manufacturer. They know their machine better than you so follow their advice.
o Keep all vents opened. If kept clogged the cleaner can overheat, eventually burning out the motor.
o Be careful where you clean, especially the stairs. You wouldn’t want to trip over the cord or attachment and fall down the stairs.
· Putting Unit Away – When you are done with the carpet cleaner here are some steps you need to take to ensure the best care for your cleaner:
o Rinse filling cavity with clean water. It would be good to leave at least ½ gallon of clean water in the cavity.
o Hold the nozzle down to a bucket or over sink.
o Turn on the pump and allow the water to come out into either bucket or in the sink.
o Take out tank and cavity and drain. Also drain hoses.
o Remove filter and clean. Then replace filter in unit.
