» What are the different types of boards?
The three different types of boards correspond to the types of snowboarding. You need to decide what type of board you will need before buying a snowboard. They are:
· Freestyle – These boards are light and flexible yet stiff enough for durability and are mainly preferred for trick ability. These boards can be used in the powder at ski resorts and for jumps, banks, and halfpipes.
· Freeride – These boards are the most popular. They are all-mountain, park, and halfpipe boards that are also able to float well in powder. With these boards you can carve, catch some air, and enjoy all riding aspects.
· Alpine – These boards were designed for racing. Their long, narrow, stiff constructions are designed for higher speeds and cleaner carving. Carving boards are designed to ride in only one direction.
