The downtown still waits to be explored. One of the more popular attractions in Seattle is the Pike Place Market. This is the longest running farmers market in the country. You can get fresh produce and fine art at this market. It is also the home of the famous fish market made popular by the old Levis commercial that had the workers throwing fish to each other to fill orders. In 1962 Seattle went out on a limb and hosted the World’s Fair. You can still visit the grounds where the fair was held. The 76 acre complex still has a few attractions including the world famous Space Needle, which has its signature in the Seattle skyline.
Hitting these popular sites will give you a great feel for the cities history. When most people think about Seattle these are the places they think about.
