A debate over RV storage has been taken to the city council in Grand Rapids, Michigan, beginning when a resident in August noted that current city ordinance do not permit RV owners to park their vehicles in a driveway for even an hour before or after excursions in order to clean or stock it.

Once the debate became public, emails, letters, and commentary from the citizenry gave overwhelming support in overturning the ordinance.

Among the many proposed revisions: increasing the maximum RV length from 26 feet to 40 feet to incorporate today's longer motor homes and increase the length of time RVs can be parked in driveways to 72 hours.

Considering that the philosophy major across the street has been living in his Winnebago for at least four years, I guess that ordinance doesn't exist in my neck of the woods.
