Spend the morning touring any of the mansions you have not seen. Take some time to explore Thames Street and the Brick Marketplace. There are a variety of shops, pubs, and restaurants all along the waterfront in downtown Newport.

Have lunch at one of the many restaurants located on Thames Street or pick up a picnic lunch to take to the Fort Adams State Park. This 105 acre seaside park is home to the Newport Jazz Festival and Folk Festival. You can take sailing or windsurfing lesson. You can also rent sailboats. This is a wonderful place to get some photos of the Newport Harbor. The park is open from dawn to dusk with a $6.00 admission fee.

If you haven’t done so already, you will want to have dinner on the Newport Dinner Train. The train leaves the station every Friday and Saturday evening for a 2 ½ hour ride that takes you along 22 miles of the beautiful Narragansett Bay. Along with the beautiful scenery you can enjoy out of your window, you will be receive an elegant four course dinner served on fine china, along with silver, crystal, and the warm glow of candlelight. Entertainment has included barbershop quartets, murder mysteries, and much more. To ensure a reservation, get your request in two weeks in advance.
