When you decide to purchase a RC boat you need to decide whether to buy one that you have to build up or one already made up.
Known as RTR (Ready to Run) it is just a case of putting in batteries and off you go, however, if you build one up yourself it will take longer but should any problems occur then it will make troubleshooting a lot easier if it is built from scratch.
Make this decision before you purchase because if you are no good at putting things together and would like to just get on with racing then buying RTR is ideal.
Some may purchase a boat to build up for a challenge and in my opinion this does prove a better option because you may be potentially be getting more value for money by being aware of how everything operates.
