There are a number of religious sites throughout the country but in more recent years, it is not the most religious of communities throughout the world.

In some areas of the nation, you will find some catholic members and a slight mixture of other religions but with only a handful of churches and parishes scattered around, compared to many other religious countries, the figure is a lot lower than counterparts located nearby.

Top Fact: The majority of religious facilities available are in the capital Lisbon but if you look further a field on some of the nearby islands, these two may possibly have one or two churches to visit during your holiday.
