With any country it is made up by numerous major areas that are alive in terms of the facilities it offers locals and tourists alike. Each region plays its part in making up a great country and whilst they may all be completely different, nothing would be complete without one city or another.

For example, how would Italy cope without Rome? It is same throughout the whole world because each city would have remained for some time and it may seem like there is a huge gap if it suddenly disappeared one day.

Portugal has many great regions to visit and combined this makes one excellent and popular country with many millions of people visiting every year to take up the history and facilities that this once war stricken nation was subject to. The transformation is outstanding and despite the slower growth than many other countries, it is hardly noticeable.

There are several main regions that make up Portugal and whilst Lisbon is the capital and most commonly one of the most popular, there are many smaller islands that most tourists aren’t aware of and yet with many beautiful beaches and hidden historical attractions, it can be a little gem for many that want a small piece of relaxation.
