AM and PM Activity
If you want to take part in a piece of historical relevance on your first day then one place to definitely visit is the Praca da Republica in Lisbon, it is the last surviving royal palace from the medieval era and originally built in the 11th century, it does have some 15th and 16th century additions but it is one of the most beautiful houses with the hanging gardens, courtyard and chapel to compliment it. This is one place you could have a picnic and have peace and quiet on a wonderful day.
The open hours are 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 7pm Thursday to Tuesday. This does make a wonderful day out so if you take advantage of visiting the attraction you can contact the house on 21-923-0085.
Dinner
You will find most of the restaurants scattered throughout the capital but there are overall great eateries throughout the country.
Given a huge five out of five by visitors, the Restaurante Isaura which can be found in Avenida de Paris, offers traditional cuisine, there is a wide variety for everyone which ranges from pizzas to pastas and many meat dishes if that is what you would prefer. This is one place where knowing a bit of Italian will definitely help and if not then make sure you have the dictionary handy but overall you can expect good service and outstanding meals.
