Mindoro Island is the largest island close to Manila. The island has been well preserved.
Puerto Galera, part of Mindoro Oriental, is the most popular destination here. It can be reached by land (three hours one way from Manila) or by boat from Batangas (two hours one way). This location is popular among Europeans and Expatriates living in Manila offering more than 25 dive spots and a wide variety of food. Bigger resorts have their own in-house diving schools.
Puerto Galera has many attractions, beside its excellent scuba diving. Activities such as kayaking, trekking, beach hopping, hiking in the hinterlands and golf can be arranged by our Filipino Travel Center office in Sabang.
Pandan Island, located along the remote Western coast of Mindoro island is accessible via San Jose airport with an additional three hours by land and a 20 minutes boat ride. This is a 10-hour trip. The island houses one accommodation only, with simple fan rooms.
