Now you have taken the chance and booked a trip to see one of the most historical and colourful regions in the world, you will need to prepare yourself for beautiful views and monuments that remain from centuries ago.

This South American nation is 501,230 square miles which is located along the Pacific Ocean and many other regions can be reached easily due to its position. To the east you will find Brazil and Bolivia, Chile to the south and Colombia and Ecuador to the North.

Peru is divided by the famous Andes Mountains and as a result is divided into three very different zones. Along the west, you will find plenty of coastlines where some of the most beautiful beaches can be found; in the centre of Peru you will find the vast mountain areas with peaks that raise over 20,000 foot and plenty of deep valleys. If you head northeast from the mountains then you will find the sierra slopes which eventually leads to the Amazonian plains (this extends the Brazilian border) where many native animals of the land are known to inhabit.

The sierra plain covers around 30% of the total land area and when you cross from southeast to northwest, you will find some of highest peaks in the world one is the Nevado Huascaran measures in 22,205 feet (6,768 meters)
