Day 7 - Underground Railroad tour

You will learn much about the struggles of the people involved in the Underground Railroad and their valiant efforts to free many of the slaves. Philadelphia was instrumental in this endeavor. Two stops should be included in this tour: the Johnson House (the only known house to have served as a station in the Underground Railroad) and the Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church . This church, under the leadership of founder Richard Allen, a former slave, served as a key station in the Underground Railroad.
