Start the day at Petit for Pastry Studio, for a delicious pastry. This is Old City’s most famous dessert spot. After a quick bite, you will explore yet more of the fascinating history that is wrapped up in the city of Philadelphia. You will be returning to the historic section of the city. Let’s start at the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia. This museum contains over 100,000 objects, all dedicated to the history of Philadelphia. In this museum you will find the wampum belt that the Lenni Lenape Indians gave to William Penn in 1682, furniture used by George Washington during his presidency in the 1790s and much more. This museum is located just around the corner from Independence Hall.

If you are in the mood for Italian cuisine for lunch, then you might enjoy DiPalma’s Ristorante, located on Market Street, nearby.  Or you could try the area of South Street, a little further away. This area houses over 300 shops and more than 60 eateries, cafes, and bars.

After lunch, it is time to hit the streets again. A visit to the nearby first U.S. Mint, the first U.S. Bank, the Fireman’s Hall Museum and the Bishop White House are all in order.
