There are several ways to put your pool cover over your swimming pool. Depending on your time, resources, and how much energy you want to put into covering your pool, there are several options to choose from. You can either put your swimming pool cover on manually, semi-automatically, or automatically.

·        Manual: Putting the swimming pool cover on manually is probably the most time consuming and difficult way of doing it, but it can be equally effective once finished. This requires you spreading your pool cover over your swimming pool and securing it down. While it sounds simple, depending on the shape of your pool it can be difficult, and require more than one person to do. The more people to help, the better, but if there are only two, it can be easier to secure down a little at a time.

·        Semi-Automatic: The process of putting on your pool cover semi-automatically is by a reel system. This reel system is driven by a motor, but usually requires human help to pull the cover out as it is being unrolled. The motor power releases the cover, but does not have a guiding system, so when unrolling or rolling up, it is important that the machine has assistance by a person. You can either build this reel system around your pool or you can put the machine on carts and roll them out when you are ready to cover your swimming pool.

·        Automatic: While automatic systems are the most expensive, they are also the fastest and easiest way to cover your swimming pool. Automatic pool cover systems are very similar to semi-automatic, but they have the reel machines based around your pool and can expose or cover your swimming pool at the push of a button. This system is completely handled electronically. There is no human labor required to cover your pool with this system. This can be a great system if you like to cover your pool when storms come in the summer. Rather than having to hurry and go through the hassle of human labor to cover your pool, you can push a button and your swimming pool water can be free from debris from the storm. Automatic pool cover systems are generally the best way to go, but depending on your situation, any cover system can fit your needs accordingly.
