Due to the power of pressure washer sprays, you must watch for and avoid electrical outlets or supply lines. Not only for your personal safety but also for the damages that may be incurred.

Pressure washers have a limited ability to suck water. Operating pressure washers without a proper water supply can severely damage the pressure washer, particularly larger units. The pressure seals on a pressure washer are not designed to pull in water, they are meant to have pressurized water sent to them. When the unit’s plunger is forced to suck the water in, it will also take in air. This will cause the unit to stop bringing in more water and will eventually cause the unit to be damaged.

Many pressure washers allow up to 140 degrees hot water through their pumps. Some pressure washer manufactures have special seal kits you can install that allow up to 190 degrees of water. You should keep in mind that by increasing the temperature it would also increase your maintenance level of your machine.
