Heating Accessories

Fans. Those using a woodstove to heat their home will want to use a fan to increase the heating efficiency of their unit. Some fans are available as options from the manufacturer specifically designed for your unit. Other can be added as aftermarket solutions.
Kettles. Extended use of wood heat will dry out the air in your home. A kettle of water simmering on top of the stove is often used to replenish the moisture into the air thus increasing the comfort level. Kettles come in all kinds of decorative varieties.
Air Supply Ventilator. Modern homes have become increasingly airtight. A fire, however, uses air to burn. Sometimes homes can be too tight without sufficient ventilation from the outside to compensate for the air consumed by the woodstove. An air supply ventilator is a through–wall pipe that allows a controlled flow of air from outside to help alleviate this problem.
