While the majority of people moving into the Tulsa area will choose to live in one of the suburbs, there are many attractive residential real estate possibilities in the downtown area. We’ll spend time looking at both the downtown area and the very extensive suburbs of Tulsa.

There are a number of different districts in the downtown area, but not all of them are suitable for residential living. When focusing on the downtown area, we will focus primarily on residential sections in order to assist you as you prepare for your move.

Midtown is a large residential neighborhood in the downtown Tulsa area. The homes in this area are generally about a hundred years old, and the area is surrounded by beautiful parks like LaFortune and Darlington Parks.

Cherry Street is another downtown residential area. This area is known for its unique shops, and is surrounded on three sides by Tulsa’s historical districts: North Maple Ridge, Swan Lake, and Yorktown.

Maple Ridge and Sunset Terrace, are just south of downtown, in the Midtown area. These areas are known for their extravagant homes, built mostly with old oil money.

There are other residential areas in the downtown area besides those listed above. However, the suburbs are so extensive in Tulsa, we need to allow sufficient time to discuss them.
