Schools

Many times the schools in an area play a big role when buying a home. The city of Charlotte has an excellent public school system as well as several private schools. Charlotte also has a number of outstanding higher education institutions.

 

The Charlotte public school system has over 125,000 students enrolled and is the largest in the state. There are several high schools in the Charlotte area that have been recognized as being among the top 100 high schools in the country. The school district has 17 high schools, 32 middle schools, and 91 elementary schools.

 

There are also several private schools in the area the majority of which are religious based.

 

Colleges are prevalent in the Charlotte area as well. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is located there as are Central Piedmont Community College, Pfeiffer University at Charlotte, Queens University of Charlotte, Kings College, Johnson C. Smith University, and Johnson and Whales University.
