Located at the tip of the southern island, Marlborough is an area that is treated to the most sunshine throughout the whole country and suitably known as “The Region with Heart”. As a result of its location at the tip of the southern island, it receives the most sunshine throughout the year which almost comes to 2000 hours worth.

Due to Marlborough’s central location it is known internationally known as one of the best wine producing regions and with a bustling gourmet food industry which is popular in local restaurants and also places further a field.

If you prefer outdoor activities then make sure you visit the Marlborough Sounds. This has been named as a holiday-maker’s delight and with many hidden coves and inlets, you can enjoy a wide visit many of the peaceful areas and try the water sports, then if you have enough energy take one of the boat cruises and various hikes along endless mountain ranges and coastline, you won’t get bored quickly and if you want something of a slower pace then why not taste some of the renowned cuisine and wines that are a major benefit to an already excellent city.
