• If you want to see some of the natural scenic views that New Zealand is famous for then there is no better place than Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown. This is something to look for, locals have said that the outline of the mountains look like a giant sleeping. It is strongly believed that the rise and fall of the lakes waters is the heartbeat of a sleeping giant. Whether or not you decide to believe this, you can’t ignore the views and various water activities that are available at New Zealand’s third largest lake.

• Located to the east of Wellington you won’t fail to miss Mount Victoria which stands at a height of 196 metres and to the south you will find Mount Albert which connects these two vast hills by a ridge. If you are brave enough and willing to climb Mount Victoria then a treat will be waiting for you at the top. Once you have made the climb, there are stunning views in every location and most importantly you will be able to see the Wellington Harbour so make sure you have a camera handy. There are other notable places of interest in this suburb which include the Greek Orthodox Church, Basin Reserve Sports Stadium and the National War Memorial which can be found at the foot of Mount Victoria.

• A visit to the famous Auckland Zoo is not just suitable for children, this is a great attraction where adults can benefit as well but you don’t have to worry, whilst the children will be enjoying themselves, they will be learning at the same time. There are many varieties of animals available to see and whilst some of the creatures are common in New Zealand others have come further a field and with some rarer animals on show, you and the family will have fun. One creature that is waiting to be seen is the Axolotl (Mexican Walking Fish) this is only one example and there are many other weird yet wonderful creatures just waiting to be greeted. The Zoo is open on a daily (except for Christmas Day) from 9.30am to 5.30pm with last admissions being at 4.15pm. Prices for adults are $16 and $8 for children but special family rates are available and prices for family groups start from $30 and raise to $58 but the cost depends on the number of adults and children in the party.

• Another great attraction for adults and children alike is the Underwater World where you can watch some of the most beautiful fish that are housed in Queensland’s largest Aquarium and Oceanarium. With other 25,000 different creatures that are a permanent attraction at the Aquarium, you will definitely need a lot of time to see everything. Underwater World is open daily (closes Christmas Day) from 9am to 6pm and last entries are up until 5pm, prices for adults are $24 and $14 for children but a family ticket which would be valid for two adults and two children would be $65. Apart from seeing the varieties of fish and other creatures you have to visit the Dinosaur World, this part of the attraction takes you through the world of dinosaurs which takes you back over 140 million years and it is ideal for people of all ages because you will be taught very important facts such as how dinosaurs became extinct and which animals are descendants of these animals. Many ask the question how would a modern day lifestyle affect dinosaurs today if they never became extinct. This is one of the many questions you may have that will be answered by experienced staff and you will certainly leave knowing more than you ever knew.
