After the immigrants were greeted by the Statue of Liberty and processed at Ellis Island, the immigrants would buy their tickets and board the train and head to their new homes. The park opens daily at 6:00 and offers a variety of recreational activities. The Manmouth Battlefield State Park is where one of the largest battles of the American Revolution took place. Every year a reenactment of the June 1778 battle takes place with authentically dressed troops camped out in the park and situated in the fields for fighting. The park has miles of hiking and horseback riding trails, picnic areas and a restored Revolutionary War farmhouse and a visitors center.
