Spend day six in the glorious White Mountains. The area is centered around Mount Washington, which towers at 6,288 feet. The White Mountain National Forest is comprised of 773,000 acres, over 100 waterfalls, and an amazingly extensive network of hiking trails, some dating back to the 19th century.

Spend the day on your outdoor activity of choice: fishing, hiking, or even skiing if the season is right. If you prefer scenic drives, this area offers some rivaling any in the country. The best is the Kancamagus Highway. The sweeping mountain outlooks along the 34-mile roadway are unparalleled.

Stay the night at one of the amazing old-world style resorts in the area. A few of the best: The Inn at Thorn Hill in Jackson, Adair Country Inn in Bethlehem, or Sunset Hill House in Sugar Hill.
