Nebraska’s two largest cities are Omaha and Lincoln with populations of 409,416 and 236,146 respectively. There are several other cities whose populations fall between 20,000-50,000. In order from largest to smallest, they are Bellevue, Grand Island, Kearney, Fremont, Norfolk, North Platte, Hastings, and Columbus. The Major metropolitan areas are the Omaha-Council Bluffs area and the Lincoln area. The cities of Grand Island, Hastings, and Kearney make up the “Tri-Cities” area.
