The Trials Training Center, a 650-acre motorcycle playground just west of Chattanooga, is hosting not only nationals but also international trials competition this weekend.
"These are world-class guys, the best in the world," said Barry Lankford, 46, a former nationally ranked trials competitor. "We have our own national series with some very good riders, but they don't hold a candle to the guys from Europe."
The sport of motorcycle trials might look like motocross to the uninitiated, but look closer. Trials motorcycles are lower-slung and very light, around 150 pounds. And there's no seat.
