Good grief. I wouldn't give anything to be these poor guys.
A 35-year-old man was riding on Putty Road, Howes Way, about 1.45pm (AEST) yesterday when he lost control on a bend.
Four bikes travelling behind him crashed into the roadway, with all four bursting into flames.
Passing motorists helped the riders escape the flames but three of them were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious leg injuries, including a a 26-year-old Sydney man from Quakers Hill, and two Central Coast men aged 27 and 30.
It's not particularly encouraging for bikers to know that - should you wreck - in addition to the dangers of rolling and sliding on asphalt at 70 MPH, there's a pretty decent chance you'll explode too.
